The Financial Literacy Initiative (FLI) focuses on owners and/or managers of small to medium enterprises (SMEs) who are involved in the decision-making of the business’s financial operations. The training participants are selected based on the following criteria:
Formally registered with the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade, and SME Development as well as regularly updated with the Namibian Business Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA)
In operation for at least six (6) months
Language – Basic comprehension of English
The training takes about 20-25 participants and depending on the pace of trainees, it is conducted over a period of at least two-three (2-3) days.
The main objective of this training is to realistically show the challenges that small-medium business entrepreneurs face on a day-to-day basis while operating. The training is set and based on realistic case studies and many success stories as examples of encouragement. The training focuses on the following modules:
