The Financial Literacy Initiative (FLI) is a national platform to enhance financial education for individuals and micro-small- and medium sized enterprises.FLI has been hosted by the Ministry of Finance & Public Enterprises under the Directorate of the Economic Policy Advisory Services (EPAS) since its inception in March 2012.Currently, the FLI consists of more than 35 Platform Supporters from the Namibian public, private and civil society sector aimed at working in a coordinated effort to improve the financial capability of all Namibians. The FLI was initiated by the Ministry of Finance and several Platform Supporters on 15 March 2012.
An improved quality of life and a narrowed economic divide achieved through financially capable, assertive and well-protected Namibians.
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing financial education and consumer protection activities. Serve as a member of the FLI Executive Committee. Plays a crucial role in analyzing relevant financial education policy documents by providing input, and Ensuring close coordination with stakeholders to promote financial inclusion. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Ministry's strategic plan in relation to this area.
I am responsible for enhancing financial inclusion in the country through the following financial education initiatives:
• Financial Inclusion and Consumer protection via public talks and presentations.
• Stakeholders engaged on financial inclusion various financial inclusion
• Development of a pensioners’ financial educational booklet.
I handle the visual communications of the FLI on all social media platforms alongside managing and monitoring the social media pages.
I am responsible for conducting and coordinating research activities as well as for monitoring and evaluation of FLI activities.
I am responsible for training and coordinating workshops and conferences.
I am responsible to ensure that all business and personal finance initiatives are implemented as planned.
I am responsible for the organization of radio, television and print educational campaigns for the FLI. I liaise with media agencies, stakeholders, services providers and also responsible for the organization and management of all FLI events. As well as the development of the FLI newsletter publications and other media related activities.
